Some of his strengths are natural leadership and seemingly intuitive broad organizational ability, quick intelligence and a rock solid work ethic.
You gots lots. An uncommon strength is that you question assumptions. Even assumptions you personally hold are not exempt from examination. Also, knowledge claims without evidence are subject to all appropriate scrutiny. And you aren’t offended when someone challenges points you put forward.

4) What makes Ian stand out from other people you know or work with?
Qualities I see that make him stand out are his resilience, humility and genuine desire to see others do well.
Besides social distancing? Your willingness to roll up your sleeves and help in whatever work needs to be done. Seems you are never above the work you expect of others - even when it is their place to accomplish the work, you are willing to jump in and help get them pointed in the right direction and off to a good start.
Humor, humor, humor!
Your wit, sense of humor and overall generous personality
